Class descriptions
VINYASA
Vinyasa Yoga is a popular style of yoga where a sequence of Yoga postures (Asanas) flow together in a sequence. The breath controls and directs the timing and coordination of the movements. This fun, dynamic class builds heat and strength and increases flexibility.
Our Vinyasa classes are suitable for beginners…..
Vinyasa classes tend to be fast-paced, however, our classes are slower, and we use props to help students find ease and optimal alignment. The classes include mostly foundational yoga postures while slowly building toward more challenging postures. Modifications are always given, so you have the option to explore alternative postures that work best for you.
YIN
Yin Yoga is made up of mostly seated poses that are held for long periods of time (3-5 minutes). Yin targets the connective tissues (fascia, tendons, ligaments) rather than the muscles, as done in Vinyasa. This meditative practice encourages the practitioner to relax and turn inwards, focusing on their breath and sensations in the body. Depending on the practitioner, the poses can be challenging, but some may find certain poses relaxing. Props can be used to make poses more comfortable and support the body. This is a great class for increasing flexibility and preparing for sleep!
